With more than 15 years’ experience in clinical and sports massage therapy – with a particular focus on chronic pain conditions and sports injuries – I work with all my clients to develop tailored programmes of effective Massage Therapy treatment to help them recover from pain and injury, and improve their overall well-being.
I am passionate about my work and delivering the best possible outcomes for all my clients. I’m continually learning and developing my skills, so that my services meet the highest quality standards and reflect the best of contemporary practice.
From my youngest days as an athlete, regularly competing in cross-country and 400 metre races, I have understood the important role for proper training and recovery – not only for success in sport, but also for general well-being. Paying attention to the needs of your whole body, through properly managing your exercise, keeps you fit, healthy and helps avoid injuries.
My regular involvement and interest in all forms of sport and physical exercise has brought me a greater understanding of the physiology of the human body – how it works and moves – and how it physically and psychologically responds when it is injured.
Through my education, training, experience and practice I have developed a deep interest and familiarity with the wide range of therapies that help deal with the injury and pain that can accompany not only physical exercise but also the stress and strain of modern lifestyles.
Although you can read what my clients say about the difference I have made to their physical well-being and the impact they tell me I have had on their lives, you will be reassured to learn that I qualified with ‘distinction’ in Clinical Remedial massage from The Medical College (Poland) where I trained in Clinical Remedial Massage and Physiotherapy. My experience included two years practice on a range of different hospital wards including:
I have spent time treating muscular and physical disorders to improve the general well-being of care home residents of all ages with special needs, and am qualified at BTEC5 level in clinical sport therapy and ACMT- Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy for:
For the last few years I have treated runners at The London Marathon. And I regularly offered support to the Healing Hands Network charity – providing complimentary treatments in clinics in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina to people suffering in the aftermath of the Balkan War. This involves treating clients with amputations, chronic pain and PTSD, many of whom had been interned in concentrations camps, tortured even raped.
I have also trained in different holistic modalities including Reiki, Quantum Touch, Stress Management to help balance my bodywork approaches with a rounded full-person approach for the body and mind. Using a perfect blend of my skills allows me to work with my clients on a different and deeper levels to so they can live their lives to the full potential and being happy in life.
Practically, my approach is:
