Testimonials

Helping people through my Clinical, Remedial and Sports Massage Therapy is always and has been a great pleasure, sometimes a bit of a challenge too. Reading their kind words reminds me of them, also how special they are, and puts a smile on my face. There are only several feedbacks (out of many) I am sharing here with you. I am always grateful for all my clients. And I’m looking forward to seeing you at my practice too.

My Clients Testimonials and Feedback:

‘I have had the pleasure of receiving massage treatments from Joanna for the last five years. She brings to this a sophisticated array of talents. She cares about what she does; she is insightful about the body. She motivates me to exercise and practise. She has an intuitive sense about what the body needs and uses that to propose exercises. I can highly recommend her.’

‘Joanna is an amazing therapist and I have been seeing her regularly for a weekly massage over the past few years. I have hyper-mobility and this causes many muscle tensions and causes me much pain. Joanna has been excellent in helping me to keep my body supple and pain free. Joanna is a lovely person and her massages are not just therapeutic but also deal with particular muscular issues, as she has an excellent understanding of muscular tension and how the body works. I have no reservation in highly recommending her.’

‘I had two consecutive issues with my lower back resulting from posture and sports injuries, leading to tightness and constant aggravation and pain which the doctor couldn’t help me with but which Joanna identified and helped relieve immensely, while also giving me advice on how to prevent a reoccurrence. There was instant relief and I definitely encourage anyone with any problems to see her.’

Daniel

‘I have seen Joanna for my regular massage treatments for over seven years now. She is so good at what she does. Her knowledge of the body, her understanding of the causes of the pain, and her ability to hone right in on the problem is unique.

‘No one I have seen before or since – massage therapist or physio – can do what she can. She is the only one who has pushed so deep into my hips and released my back by doing so. That is just about the sorest part of me with the running. Her ability is about more than just the work she does on the muscles – there is something else going with her massages that I think comes from her heart with all commitment, dedication and passion. I cannot find anyone who does that.’

‘I use to have a really annoying pain in the upper back. A friend of mine recommended Joanna and I decided to go for a massage to see if she can help me with that. She made me feel really comfortable and welcome, asked me a couple of questions about previous injuries, etc. I have had a couple sessions with her, during which she found there is too much tension in the muscle tissue and managed to get rid of that tension using her magic hands. The best thing about Joanna is she found what causes the pain and gave tips on what to do – stretching and exercises so the pain doesn’t come back. Since then I’ve been going to see Joanna every time I over-train – those of you who take pre-workout know what I’m talking about J) ... Couldn`t recommend Joanna more!’

‘I have received massage treatments from Joanna over a numbers of years. Five years ago it became difficult for me to walk for more than 200–300 yards. The diagnosis of the physio was:

1. Left peripheral nerve irritation from L5/S1 facet joint due to stiffness of his lumbar spine

2. Left gluteal minimus tendinopathy

3. Mechanical hip pain due to weakness of his gluteals and control at his pelvis.

‘Joanna helped me with a set of regular treatments and exercises that dealt with these issues.

‘Joanna is a massage therapist who combines physiology insights with deep knowledge of human behaviour. And she has a helpful and caring approach. The results of her treatments, along with Pilates exercise classes, has helped me deal with each of the three problems I had before. Regular massage treatments have also helped me with keeping a sense of balance in the face of stressful work-conditions.’

‘I saw Joanna as I was suffering with pain and tension in my jaw, neck and shoulders. This was due to clenching teeth during sleep, a dental brace and a few too many press ups! The treatment I received was very beneficial and I was amazed that massaging the inside of the mouth and around the jaw area could relieve my symptoms so much.’

‘After long term intermittent suffering with lower back problems and a recent injury in an RTA, I’ve a number of pains that need to be resolved. After a couple of sessions with Joanna, I’ve found some progressive relief to a number of areas, with particular remedy to the shoulder area. Having never believed much in this being resolved simply through massage and therapy, I’m now keen to keep the sessions going and excited about the level of progress over just 10 days (two sessions).

‘If you’ve thought about it, but never followed through with booking in, I would say not to delay … she’s remarkable!’

‘Before going to Joanna my legs/hamstrings were very tight and uncomfortable. Joanna’s very professional, she made me feel comfortable and at ease, and with a few sessions with her my legs/hamstrings were back to normal.’

‘I began to attend for a remedial massage a few months ago because I was suffering from pain in my jaw, neck and shoulders as well as headaches associated with grinding my teeth during my sleep. My dentist had prescribed a mouth splint to wear at night to protect my teeth, but this did not address the pain and I was constantly relying on over-the-counter painkillers to give me relief.

As a result of seeing Joanna and her work, my jaw began to relax more and more. I began sleeping better and the headaches have become infrequent. The improvement I feel has been enormous. I now continue to attend every few weeks for a massage to maintain the more relaxed posture and jaw I have gained. I would recommended the TMJ treatment to anyone who suffers pain associated with clenching and grinding their teeth.’

‘I saw Joanna for my general tightness and soreness; backache and other underlying pain. On my first visit, I was nervous as I always am with a new therapist because so many of them are a waste of time. After that first session, when I realised how good you were at what you do and how caring you were as well, I always looked forward to every session and wished – and still wish – I could see you more often. I have to admit it was one of the best experiences of my life. You have a unique approach to the human body and are always looking beyond that. You are so caring and so professional at the same time. You have stretched me in some new ways, and shown me different stretches that target my problem areas, which has made a big difference to me. I have learned a lot from you and feel I have a deeper/different understanding and appreciation of many things, and you push me to do new things that are good for me.’

‘I struggled with overhead movements – putting my hands above my head, for example – and particularly my right side. After the first session I felt a lot freer in my movements, and felt improvement as well as pain relief. Joanna taught me how to breath correctly – I had been incorrectly breathing and holding my breath while performing movements – which has helped with my overall movements, and has made me feel a lot better in general. Working with cranes, continuously having to use my hands above my head to guide the cranes, I feel a lot better in my movements and feel less pain while working. Overall the treatment is great as I feel it has helped me at work as well as my physical strength and shape. In addition, the breathing has helped me to be more relaxed and understand my breathing patterns.’

‘I suffered lack of exercise due to not leading an active life since retirement – with muscles being used less than during my working life – with an increase in weight. I had no reservations concerning working with Joanna and the whole process has been extraordinary, with her expertise and knowledge putting me at ease and within my comfort zone. I have found her to be an experienced therapist with a wonderful nature that has helped me to attain an improved level of well-being and satisfaction with my life.’

‘Before working with Joanna, my initial body condition had been very varied over the past few years. I had no reservations as I trusted a recommendation from someone I knew well who was very experienced at receiving massages over a 20 year period, and they said Joanna was the best! The process of working with her has been entirely positive. Her work has been very professional and extremely beneficial whatever the complaint I have brought to her. The one best result is impossible to recall. Whatever the complaint and discomfort – small to large – the result has been the relief and reduction in symptoms and a better sense of overall well-being (...) You will be in safe and very competent hands".

‘You identified the issue with my tight jaw muscles, headaches, neck soreness etc. TMJ was new and I was a bit apprehensive but I trusted you completely.  Again, the treatment was very effective and very nurturing. The TMJ hurts while you do it, but the result afterwards is worth it. I like the way you deal with me while you do the TMJ – you become all professional while you do it (and while I am laughing in pain) and then you are soft and gentle again when it’s done. You push me to do new things that are good for me.’

‘Before I started working with Joanna I had a shoulder injury that I was aware of, however she discovered another weak point in my body – my weak and unstable ankles. I have a mobility restriction with my right shoulder due to dislocation and a broken clavicle bone. Joanna helped me by opening and stretching the muscles around the shoulder joint, which helped to get back most of the mobility in my shoulder, and she showed me some exercises to help me with my recovery process. The second weak point that Joanna found in my body were my ankles. I never thought that my ankles were weak, but Joanna explained to me what’s wrong with them. After discovering that problem, she stretched my tight calves, quads and hip flexors and gave me some exercises to improve my strength, stability and mobility. My following training, which I combined with the exercises she gave me, made a massive change in my ankle strength and mobility, which has helped me massively with my sports training(...). Working with her on a regular basis has been really helpful, because she helped me to get back the mobility in my shoulder and ankles which made a massive positive impact on my sport performance. When you start working with her you will feel and see the difference in your body and you will achieve a better levels of well-being. Do not hesitate, your body needs that special treatment.’

‘I had a sore shoulder that seems to be made worse from sitting at a work desk. I was concerned that after massage therapy it might feel better for a day but not improve. However, Joanna has been recommended to me by my PT so I was confident this would be different, and it has been.

It has been really beneficial for me. I have a lot of different aches and pains over the years; jaw, shoulder, arm, gluteus, neck, calves, quads, from various different exercises. I have really appreciated Joanna’s interventions, advice and exercises. She does a lot more than massage – she is super-knowledgeable on what I need to improve the situation and her exercises are always spot on. I always benefit, with the situation/pain much improved when I leave. I had a really sore shoulder and neck at one point and, after a series of treatments including jaw massage she did, the improvement was remarkable.’

‘I had dislocated my shoulder three months previously. The physio was working but I had lack of mobility and strength in my shoulder, which was interfering with my swimming and causing pain. I was planning a two-mile swim in the Serpentine and needed Jo to help me get to a place where I could actually do the swim without damaging my shoulder. I was concerned that massage therapy wasn’t the answer and I needed something more radical. In addition Jo was recommended by my physio but I wasn’t sure she would be able to do what was needed in the time frame. We started with a full consultation and during every part of the process Jo expected to provide feedback following the various techniques and procedures she used. Every massage was a step up from the last. It never became routine. After a series of treatments I am mostly pain free for longer periods between massages, and my shoulder is almost completely mobile. I will highly recommend her.’
